We are looking for a seasoned Senior Mechanical Engineer to be part of a team that designs and develops high-quality commercial and institutional mechanical systems for Moseley’s projects. With 7+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering and HVAC design experience, the ideal candidate brings advanced expertise in Revit and a strong foundation in calculations, design, layout, and specifications. This role plays a key role in HVAC replacement projects, facility evaluations, and project management efforts, delivering meaningful, long-lasting, and efficient improvements to complex facilities. Candidates with a Professional Engineer (PE) license and experience supporting large public projects are especially encouraged to apply. Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET program
7+ years’ experience with PE License
10+ years’ experience without PE License
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a positive professional working relationship with team members while working together in a collaborative, proactive and detail-oriented approach
Lead the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems for medium to large size projects that may include existing facility evaluations, feasibility studies, life cycle cost analysis, and cost estimating
Perform detailed calculations to develop construction, installation, and operational standards, specifications, and designs for mechanical systems or components
Assist in construction administration through conducting site visits
Maintain accurate and timely project documentation
Confirm all mechanical design systems adhere to building codes, regulations, and safety standards
Provide mentorship and coaching to emerging professionals
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills:
Capable of working in a collaborative team environment to meet specific deadlines
Diligence in monitoring progress, identifying potential problems and designing solutions as necessary
Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Expert knowledge of codes and standards such as SMACNA, IBC, IMC, and ASHRAE
Energy modeling experience
Software Proficiencies:
Autodesk Revit (BIM) experience required
Microsoft Office Suite experience required
Bluebeam experience required
TRANE TRACE, HAP experiences required
